150th Anniversary of San Luis

The San Luis Sesquicentennial Planning Committee has announced preliminary plans to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of San Luis, Colorado's first town.

The following events are subject to change:

Wed, July 25, 2001 Feast Day of Santiago, Chama	6 p.m. - Horse Procession 6:30 p.m. - Mass 7:30 p.m. - Potluck dinner in the church yard followed by a street dance
Thurs, July 26, 2001 Feast Day of Santa Ana, San Luis	2 p.m. - Genealogy presentation by Maria C. Martinez, at museum 6:30 p.m. - Procession 7 p.m. - Mass 8 p.m. - Mariachi San Luis in the church yard, street dancing, and barbecue
Fri, July 27, 2001, San Luis	9 a.m. - 5k Walk 2-8 p.m. - Art Walk 5 p.m. - Art reception, music by Bro. Antonio 7 p.m. - Santa Ana y Santiago Queen Coronation, El Convento grounds 9 p.m. - Al Hurricane dance at Moe's Place in Garcia, Tickets $15 - proceeds support the development of the Culebra Community Rec Center
Sat, July 28 2001, San Luis	Carnival and animal farm open all day 7:30 a.m. - 5k Run 7:30 a.m. - Bread and soap making demonstrations, Parish Hall 10 a.m. - Parade 11:15 a.m. - Ceremonial blessing and Aztec dance 12:15 p.m. - Introductions of 2001 and former Santa Ana Queens 12:30 p.m. - Performance by 2001 Santa Ana Queen 12:45 p.m. - Mt.
